9/10/25 Announcements

 

Seniors, you should have received an email from Mr. Jones which contains a Google form for you to vote for a Senior sunrise date. The deadline to vote is 12:00 on Wednesday, September 10th. (please announce September 8-10)

 

School nurse reminders: Mrs. Amanda has sent letters to all 7th and 12th graders who need their required immunizations. Please go to your doctor, Goshen, or the Duplin County Health Department as soon as possible to get this done. The deadline is September 23rd. Students will be sent home on September 24th with an unexcused absence if this is not done. Turn your immunization record into Nurse Amanda, front office, or Homeroom teacher. 

 

The Junior and Senior Beta Clubs are hosting a food drive for the month of September. All Beta Club members are encouraged to participate! Please drop non-perishible food items off with one of your Beta Club advisors to receive service hours. 

 

Students interested in joining the Duplin Agribusiness Academy can see Mrs. Ostheim or Mr. Woodard for an application. (Read through October 1)

 

Attention 8th - 10th graders:  On Thursday, September 18 from 5-7pm, there will be an informational session for all of our Career Academies.  If you are interested in our Agribusiness, Health Science, Industrial Trades, or TEACH Academies, this is a great opportunity to find out more and ask questions.  Academy Night will be held in the Hall Building on the campus of James Sprunt Community College.  If you would like more information, please contact Mrs. Ostheim, Mrs. Cruse,  or visit the Duplin County Schools website. Students who are interested in nursing, come learn about the RIBN (Ribbon) Program through ECU and James Sprunt on Tues, Sept. 16th @ 6 PM in Monk Auditorium at JSCC. Please see Mrs. Cruse for more information.

 

High School Students: The 4th Annual Let’s Connect at ECU will be held on Thursday, October 2nd, from 4 to 7 pm. Activities include a campus tour, bilingual college-knowledge presentation, food and free t-shirts. See Mrs. Cruse for more information. (Read through Sept 12th)

We are so excited to announce our school wide reading challenge for this year! Students and faculty are challenged to read 1000 books cover to cover! Stop by the media center today to get your book today! Once you read your book cover to cover, let Mrs. Thornton know or submit it on the school website!
