Congratulations to our September Rebel Students of the Month!

 

7th Grade- Marrissa Sanchez - Her teachers said, Marissa is always on task and working hard. She takes time to help others without being asked.

8th Grade- Henry Pope - His teachers said, Henry is always very respectful and a leader amongst his peers. Henry has a great attitude and doesn't have a shred of negativity.

9th Grade - Dylan Vann - His teachers said, Dylan is a model student. He is always on task and working hard. He is talented and does his best on every assignment.

10th Grade- Zoey Martinez - Zoey Martinez for always coming to class prepared, paying attention, and helping others.

11th Grade- Garris Warren - His teachers said he is always willing to help whenever asked, has a positive attitude toward other students while helping with task they may not understand.

12th Grade- Marcus Hill - His teachers said he is always willing to help students and staff when needed. He is polite and respectful and works hard in school to maintain his grades.

 

Our Rebel Staff Member of the Month is Mrs. Anglia Taylor.  Mrs. Taylor is a team player and does a great job with helping students and scheduling, helping guidance, and is leading the school social committee this year.  

 

Attention all student drivers: If you haven't purchased your student parking pass yet and are driving to school, please do so as soon as possible. Parking is being enforced. Tickets have been issued and must be paid as soon as possible!

Students interested in Battle of the Books should plan to attend a third period meeting on Thursday, October 10th, to learn more about the upcoming changes in BOB!

 

This is the LAST WEEK to register for the Beta Club 5K Color Run! The race will be held Saturday, October 19th here at North Duplin. You can register to run or walk in the 5K through the school website or the QR code on posters around campus. Proceeds from the race benefit The Outlaw Cancer Foundation and Beta Club members. Registration is $30 and includes a t-shirt and goodie bag. (read 10/7-10/11) 

 

Attention Juniors: If you are interested in Career Connection opportunities (also known as job shadowing), please sign up on Ms. Ostheim’s door, Room 105. (read October 1-14)

 

Juniors and Seniors wanting to take James Sprunt classes in the spring must come by guidance this week and see Mrs.Taylor to sign up .

 

Juniors if you have not returned your College Fair permission form to guidance please do so by Friday Oct.11th . If you need one please see your homeroom teacher.  ALL Juniors must return a permission form.

 

Underclassmen pictures are Tuesday, Oct. 15. Students must use the code on their order form to purchase pictures. These forms were passed out recently in the first period class. If you did not receive one, there are a few order forms left in Mrs. Young’s room.

 

Senior Portrait retakes are Tuesday, Oct. 22. To book an appointment, students must see Mrs. Young for a flier. Portraits for just the yearbook are free. This must be done by Friday, Oct. 11.

 

Step back in time and enjoy the haunting stories of those who lived through the Great War. Join FAISON CEMETERY for an evening of eerie stories and experience the thrill of the unknown. VOICE FROM THE PAST GHOST WALK will be on Saturday, October 19 from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM.   Free admission for everyone! READ 10/4— 10/19

 

There will be a middle school dance on 10/17 in the cafeteria from 3:15 - 5:15.  Admission is $5 and there will be snacks and drinks available for purchase.  See Mrs. Wolfe with questions. 



 

 


 

Upcoming Club Meetings: 

 

All high school girls interested in indoor track, soccer, or spring track please report to the media center on Thursday, October 10th, for more information about the upcoming season.

 

7th and 8th grade Junior Beta students will meet on Thursday during second period acceleration in Mrs. Wolfe’s room.  Junior Betas are reminded to check their email regularly.  Please see Mrs. Wolfe or Mrs. Langston if you have questions.  (announce through 10/10)
