10/16/25 Announcement

 

There will be a parent meeting for any high school girl interested in playing basketball this year on Monday, October 20th in the old gym at 6:00. (read through 10/20)

Students, please encourage your parents to submit the Panorama Permission form using the QR code by Oct . 29. The first class to have all forms submitted will win an ice cream party. (read through 10/20)

Seniors - you should have received the sign up information for senior retakes in your email. Information was also sent about how to sign up if you are struggling to use the original method. Please sign up for a time to have your picture taken on October 21st so that you can be included in the yearbook!

7th and 8th grade students - WE ARE HAVING A DANCE on October 16th from 3:15 until 5:00 in the cafeteria.  Admission is $5 at the door and snacks and drinks will be sold!  There will be flyers posted around school with information.  Stop and see Mrs. Wolfe or Ms. Rose with questions or concerns!  (please announce until 10/16)

 

Voices From The Past Ghost Walk will be held in Faison on Oct 18th. This is a free event.  See guidance bulletin board for more information.

Attention scientists! If you are interested in participating in the North Duplin Science and Engineering Fair this year you need to stop by and see Ms. Hinnant or Mrs. Wolfe as soon as possible for information. The North Duplin Science and Engineering Fair projects will be due on Friday, November 21 for judging.  (please announce through 10/16)

 

Seniors, James Sprunt will be having a free college application week event in the media center on Oct.23rd. Plan to stop in and check it out.( Please announce until 10/22) 

 

SkillsUSA will be hosting an after school meeting this Thursday, October 16th at 5:30. Join us for spooky fun activities! Costumes are encouraged but must be school appropriate. Prizes will be given out to the team with the best pumpkin and the student with the best costume. You must be a paid member to attend. Please see Sauls for more information. (Please announce until 10/16)

 

There will be a middle school GIRLS basketball interest meeting next Monday, October 20th at 6:30 in Mr. Rose’s room.  This is a very important meeting.  If you are planning to play, but can’t attend the meeting, please let Mr. Rose know by no later than next Wednesday, October 22nd.  (Please announce until 10/20/25).

 

Interested in the North Carolina School of Science and Math? If you would like to attend an open house this Saturday, Oct 18th, please see Mrs. Cruse for registration information. 

 

The Spanish 1 2-liter bottle projects are on display — and they’re better than ever! 

Please take the time to vote for your favorite Famous Hispanic American now through this Thursday at 3:00 p.m. Voting is an exciting competition for the students, and your participation truly means a lot to them.

How to vote:
✅ Go to the display area in front of the office.
✅ Each project has a sign with a photo, name, and a small QR code — scan it to listen to 6 fun facts about each Famous Hispanic American.
✅ When you’re ready, scan the large QR code to cast your vote for your favorite! (Phones are required to vote and you must be signed in to your email.)

Our goal is 200 votes, and the 1st place winners of the favorite Hispanic American will receive a restaurant gift card!

Please make sure you participate — the Spanish 1 students are very excited and can’t wait to see who wins. Thank you so much for supporting them!
