Our Media Center Mission
The mission of the North Duplin Jr. Sr. High Library Media Center is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information, are lifelong learners, and encourage a love for reading. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive space where students explore diverse literature, develop essential literacy skills, and embark on imaginative journeys that shape their future success.

Providing instruction in information and digital literacy

Providing intellectual and physical access to informational materials in a variety of formats and media

Promoting an appreciation of reading and in finding and using information and ideas

Promoting the use of the Library Media Center by students and faculty

Working with teachers to design and implement authentic learning experiences that meet the academic and personal information needs of students
Meet Mrs. Laura
Hello everyone! My name is Mrs. Laura Thornton and I am the Digital Learning and Media Coordinator at North Duplin Jr Sr High School. I am a life-long Rebel, graduate of NC State University and earned my Master's degree from East Carolina! I have served the North Duplin community since 2005 as a media coordinator. I strive to empower students and staff with the skills and resources that they need to succeed academically and become lifelong readers and learners. I am looking forward to a great year and having a positive impact on our Rebel community! It's Always A Great Day to Be A Rebel!
