History of North Duplin Jr Sr High School

North Duplin Junior-Senior High School has provided its students with various opportunities for scholastic achievement, extracurricular activities, and athletic participation. Knowledge, love, friendship, and happiness grow from such involvement.

The faculty, the students, and the community are proud to be a part of the continuous growth of our school and its progress since January 2, 1956. In 1975, North Duplin High School was the first Duplin County school to be accepted for accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. A year later, on October 7, 1976, the school was accredited by the N. C. State Department of Public Instruction. In 1985-1986, North Duplin Junior High and North Duplin Senior High merged to form North Duplin Junior/Senior High School. During the same year, North Duplin Junior / Senior High School was reaccredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

North Duplin is unique. The continuity of grades seven through twelve creates a strong bond of unity that promotes a special relationship between students, faculty, and community. All members of the school family strive to uphold this unique relationship.
